We respect your privacy. Our privacy principles embody the National Privacy Principles in the Privacy

Act 1988 (Privacy Act). You need not disclose your identity to us in order to use our website. 

Our Privacy Policy explains how we protect the privacy of your personal information under the National Privacy Principles and it mentions the matters which we are required to disclose to individuals under National Privacy Principles 1.3 and 1.5. The above applies to any personal information you provide to us via our website or under any agreement or arrangement and to information which we collect about you from other sources. However, the above does not apply to our acts and practices which relate to the employee records.  While our policy addresses our obligations in respect of the laws of Australia, if we deal through offices in other countries, we apply the same principles and processes, in addition to any requirements of local law.

Usually, where appropriate, we will tell you reasons for collecting personal information, or they will be obvious when we collect the information.

We only collect personal information from this website when it is provided voluntarily by you, if you send us an e-mail or if you require any other service. 

As always on web, when you visit websites, an Internet Service Provider (ISP) makes a record of your visit and records your internet address, your domain name and the date and time of your visit to the website.

Our ISP also collects information such as the pages our users access, the documents they download, links from other sites they follow to reach our site, and the type of browser they use. The ISP may collect other information as what pages were viewed; however, this information is anonymous and is only used for statistical purposes. Usually,  this information will not be personal information because it will not show your identity.

Our Duty of Confidentiality and Obligations of Non-Disclosure

We uphold our duty to maintain the confidentiality of our clients' affairs, including personal information. We are obliged by fiduciary duties we owe our clients, and by relevant professional conduct rules to maintain the confidentiality of information.  The only instances where it can be waived are with your consent, if it is compelled by law or if disclosure is for the sole purpose of avoiding the probative commission or concealment of law.

In many cases, information which we hold will be subject to legal professional privilege and we will therefore not be obliged to disclose.

If relevant, we rely on the employee and related bodies corporate exemptions in the Privacy Act.

We protect any personal information that we hold from misuse, loss, unauthorized access, modification and disclosure.

We store your personal information may be stored in hard copy or as electronic data in our information technology systems. We keep physical security over our data stores using locks and security systems. We also maintain computer and electronic network security.

However, the Internet is not a secure environment and you use it, all information is sent at your own risk.

If you believe that any of the personal information we hold about you is incomplete, inaccurate and out-of-date, contact us immediately. We will take steps to correct this information.

Gaining Access to Information We Hold About You

We will, on your request, provide you with access to the personal information we hold about you unless there is an exception which applies under the Privacy Act. Your request should be sent to our Privacy Compliance Officer (see below). If we deny your request in some circumstances, we will provide you with reasons for the refusal and inform you of the Privacy Act's exceptions.

Your above request will be dealt with in a reasonable time and we may recover from you our reasonable cost of providing you with access.
